Trash Cash

“Trash Cash” was another commission from the Tallgirls. I devised a series of interrelated scenes, accompanied by slides of my drawings. The floor was covered in pennies, which sparkled in the light, and crunched underfoot. I costumed the Tallgirls in white minidresses and go-go boots, which they all looked lovely in. There was also a sweater, which nobody wore, but which was left behind, picked up, and passed around throughout the piece. It was performed in San Francisco in 1985.

I wrote a one-act play about two waitresses and two customers, developing (I hope) a strong comic character for each of them. It was performed at Footwork Dance Studio, in San Francisco, in November of that year.

Modeling for Scarlot Harlot

Sometime in the early ’80s, sex work activist Scarlot Harlot asked me to portray a phone sex addict for a slide show she was doing. Naturally, I agreed; I had, after all, a number of prop and toy phones that I used in my shows. She used the images in this birthday card.
